Attributed to David Peyser, an amateur photographer who roamed the city and the Western Addition around the turn of the 20th Century, photographing events such as the 1904 Knights Templar Conclave and the dedication of the McKinley Memorial in Golden Gate Park's Panhandle in 1903. He took many pictures of his son, Jefferson Peyser (b.1899), who grew up to be a city supervisor and member of the California Assembly.
